No Sew Bear

Materials:
Instructions:
Clear glass jars: 2 x 2 ¾-inch baby food jars
Plush stuffed bears: 8”
½ yard of pretty fabric
Lightweight card (like a file folder) or a cone paper cup for hat
Assorted trims to decorate
Gum balls or other fun things to fill the jars
1. Carefully remove head, arms and legs from each plush bear (you may be able to get the bear parts only). Glue any openings closed.
2. For each collar, use pinking shears to cut a 1 ½ x 16-inch fabric strip. Sew a gathering stitch along one long strip edge and pull threads to form a circle. Glue ends of strip together.
3. To assemble, centre and glue collar on jar lid, then glue head on collar. Screw lid on jar, then refer to the picture to glue arms and legs on jar sides. Tie ribbon bows and glue under bear’s chin.
4. To make the bear’s hat, trace the pattern out of fabric and card. Glue the fabric onto the card (try to glue just the edges if possible). Glue a pom-pom to hat tip and a chenille stem around bottom hat edge. Glue hat to head.
5. Fill jar with goodies.
