Bottle Apron

Instructions

The height of the pattern should be 7" and the width 7-1/2". Cut out the pattern using a single layer of fabric or dish cloth/towel.

Sew a piece of the 1/4" double folded bias tape over the top straight edge. (Open it and insert the raw edge into it).

Sew the 1/2" gathered lace along the bottom curved edge (approx. 12-1/2" long). Zig zag is a good stitch to use.

Take a piece of the bias tape approx. 28" long and fold in half lengthwise to find the centre point.

Lay the apron down and place the bias tape on top of it. Keep a tail of 7" extended beyond the left edge of the apron. Open the bias tape where it meets the apron and place the fabric/lace edge into it.

Pin the bias tape where it meets the apron. Stitch the bias tape from the end of the tail and continue stitching where you pinned.

Keep inserting the apron in the bias tape and stitch as you go along. When you reach the top edge, stitch just the bias tape for four inches.

Continue to insert the apron in the folded bias tape to stitch the right-hand side.

That's it, you're done. The instructions sound more complicated than it is.
